上學期的期中試為十一月揭開序幕，整個校舍也變得寧靜起來。考試完畢之後，各項活動或比賽又重新展開。我們的體育老師經常為我們的同學安排不同的比賽，讓學生不但可以多實踐所學到，還可讓他們多向外界學習，擴闊眼界。友校所舉辦的比賽最能提供學習機會給我們的學生。我們分別參加了友校舉辦的接力賽及足球比賽，分別取得季軍及碟賽的冠軍，這些獎項真的給了我們的學生有很大的鼓勵，也同時提升他們的自信心。另外，我們也有參加一年一度的屯門區小學校際田徑比賽，雖然沒有取得任何的獎項，但能夠參與其中及見識其他學校出色運動員的表現，相信學生體會到提升自我能力，才有機會爭勝。 | ||||||||||
The first examination was held at the beginning of November. Therefore, the campus became quiet. After the examination, all the activities and competitions started again. Our PE teachers always arrange different kinds of competitions for our students as they want to put what they have learnt in to practice. Also, they can learn from the opponents in the competitions. There are lots of friendly matches in Tuen Mun which are held by different schools. These friendly matches provide lots of opportunities to learn. We were so happy that we won in these competitions. We got the second runner-up in the relay and we got the Champion in the Plate Competition. These awards mean a lot to our students and encourage them. It can also enhance their self-confidence. Hence, we joined the Inter-School Track and Field Competition (Tuen Mun District) and we did not get any medals. We believe that it is a precious chance for our students to prepare for their next competition. They can also learn from other athletes.

近兩年，學校銳意安排不同的活動給予學生，好讓他們多接觸不同的事物，有助學生認識自己，了解自己的不足，發掘自己的興趣，從而提升自己。今年，學校為學生安排了一項特別的參觀，就是參觀屯門公眾騎術學校！那天，同學認識了馬匹的習性，更有機會騎在真正的馬匹之上，一展英姿。除了校外活動，我們也注意學生在校內的活動，我們分別在英文的課堂上加入一些有趣而真實的活動，好讓學生在愉快中學習，例如：品嘗食物的味道、製作熱狗……小息時，外籍老師悉心為學生安排一些提升學生英語會話的活動，讓學生學以致用。 | ||||||||||
Within these 2 years, the school provides various kinds of activities to our students because we want them to explore more and let them understand themselves well to enhance their own potential. Also, they can have more experiences to share with their family, schoolmates and friends. This year the school arranged a special visit for our students. They visited Tuen Mun Public Riding School to observe the habitat of horses. Preciously, our students rode on the horse to learn how to ride. Besides, our school wants to provide more chances to our students to improve their English. In the English lessons, we incorporated some interesting and authentic activities to our students to learn happily and meaningfully such as food tasting, making a hotdog…… At recess, our NET teacher prepared some activities which could let our students speak more English and brush up their English proficiency in speaking.

至於家長方面，我們於十一月九日，在學校舉辦了家長會及校友會選舉。選舉後，我們在操場舉行燒烤同樂日及抽獎活動，大家也盡興而回。當天，選舉活動於上午舉行，而下午則舉行燒烤同樂日，原因是近日市面可能出現一些狀況，為了大家的安全，學校作出如此安排。同時，由於市面不穩的情況，教育局宣佈學校停課。復課後，為了讓學生能儘早回家，我們把託管服務及課外活動取消了，大型活動及比賽如聯校運動會、香港朗誦協會及學界聯會舉辦之比賽也取消了。雖然學生少了出外比賽的機會，但學校會努力為我們的學生創建其他學習機會。幸好，11月28日的上午，我們的普通話集誦隊可以如常參加比賽，他們勇奪了季軍，十分高興。 | ||||||||||
We held a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Alumni Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) to vote and select the official members in the morning. In the afternoon, we had a BBQ gathering with a luck draw. All the participants were so happy on that day. This activity used to be held at night but it was held in the day time as the social situation is not stable. Safety must be in the first priority. After, the Education Bureau announced that all the schools were in suspension, so After School Care, ECA and Sports Day were cancelled. All the competitions held by The Hong Kong Speech and Music Association and The Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation were cancelled, too. Students really lost a lot of chances to perform in public but we will try our best to let our students show their talent in public. Fortunately, our Chinese Choral Speaking Team won the second runner-up.

我們一行三十位學生及三位老師浩浩蕩蕩的，由吳美華副校長帶領於十一月二十六日至十一月三十日前往台灣高雄，這是本年度的第一隊的境外交流，希望籍此活動，令學生提高環保意識。他們不單參觀不同的機構，更到當地小學上課，相信他們是有一個難忘的旅程。下學期我們將會到兩個特別的地方作境外交流，大家知道是哪一個地方嗎？猜一猜吧！ | ||||||||||
Lead by the Vice Principal, Ms. Carol Ng with 3 teachers and 30 students were going to Taiwan to have the first excursion this year. We wish that our students can learn more about the awareness of environmental protection. They would visit different organization and scenic spots. They also visited a primary school there and they exchanged gifts. We are going to two other special cities in the second term. Can you guess where are they?

教師的專業發展是十分重要的，因為現在的科技發展一日千里，所以老師亦應裝備自己，為我們的學生建構新的知識及態度。11月29日是教師專業發展日，我們舉辦了兩場的講座，分別為「正向教育」及「google classroom電子教學工作坊」。由於學校的周年發展重點為正向教育，希望多鼓勵學生以正面的態度去面對所有的困難，而作為老師，亦需要認識如何引導學生以正向樂觀的態度去面向人生的挑戰；本年度另一個周年發展重點為培養學生的自學能力，因此，學校舉辦了「Google Classroom電子教學工作坊」，Google Classroom 是一個雲端學習管理平台，讓老師建立課程、發佈作業，全班可在平台上分享交流、傳送意見，老師可輕易追蹤學生進度。希望學生能透過使用Google Classroom平台發布學習資料，提升自學能力，讓學生在知識上有所增長。 | ||||||||||
Teacher Professional Development is essential to teachers because all the technology develops rapidly, so all the teachers have to well-equipped themselves for helping students construct their knowledge and attitudes. On 29th November, 2019, there were 1 seminar and 1 workshop held which are about ‘Positive Education’ and ‘Teaching in Google Classroom’. Owing to School Annual Plan emphasizes on ‘Positive Education and we wish to encourage our students to have positive attitude to overcome all the obstacles. Being a teacher, we ought to know how to guide students to be optimistic to face the challenges in their lives. Another emphasis on School Annual Plan is to cultivate students’ self-learning. Therefore, our school held a workshop about ‘Teaching in Google Classroom’. Google Classroom is learning platform which is located in i-cloud. It can help teacher construct a curriculum, disseminate assignments, students can communicate and share their ideas there. Teachers can easily monitor and track the learning progression of students. We wish our students can use the learning materials through Google Classroom. Their self-learning ability will be enhanced and their knowledge is also increased.
